Light that unveils love.
Artificial light is excellent for productivity. Clear visibility sets you into action—tackle your inbox, wash the dishes, and walk the dogs. Dragging your feet on a task? Turn on all the lights and find yourself moving towards your goal.
Moreover, natural light has a different effect on us. It encourages us to be more introspective and reflective. It creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for intimate conversations with loved ones or quiet moments of personal contemplation. Enjoying a meal over candlelight with friends, sitting by a fire wrapped in a blanket with your children, or even the warm colors of the late afternoon sun that playfully dances through the trees. In these moments, I am not thinking about to-do lists, goals, or accomplishments. It is something entirely different.
Natural light unveils a side to life we cannot see with our eyes. It illuminates our interior life and connects us with our most authentic selves. This is where we find our creativity, imagination, and sense of wonder. It's a childlike, innocent part of us that deserves our attention and care. Sharing this part of ourselves with others can be incredibly freeing and deepen our love and connection with them.
This is perhaps why prayer is so important. When we pray, we enter into a conversation with Jesus, who is the light of the world. He shines his light into every part of our lives and loves us unconditionally. He knows us better than anyone else and accepts us for who we are, flaws and all. God cares about more than productivity—he wants us to experience the fullness of life and delight in the wonders of the world with him.
